I want to put my car on the Turo platform but am I insured?
Intact Insurance is providing Turo with commercial insurance. If your vehicle is insured by Intact today, call our team to update your records and you will be good to go. If you are insured with another company but want to find out what’s required to get proper coverage, we can help with that too.
I am insured with Intact. How do I get my vehicle listed on the Turo platform?
To confirm you have the insurance you require, please connect with our team first. After knowing you have the proper insurance, simply visit Turo.com and fill out the information to list your vehicle. Registration is a simple step-by-step process where you can enter your vehicle details, availability, and set the price.
Am I penalized for driving incidents while my car is rented out?
No, Turo has a commercial insurance policy in place with Intact, underwritten by Novex, which provides coverage while your vehicle is being delivered and rented. Any claims arising during their period will be made against the Turo commercial policy; not your personal policy.
How does the Turo commercial policy work while my vehicle is being delivered or rented?
Turo has a commercial policy in place with Intact which provides coverage for the vehicle while it is being delivered and during the rental period.
During the rental and delivery periods, the commercial insurance policy provides the following coverage:
- $2 million third party liability;
- Standard accident benefits;
- Physical damage (comprehensive and collision);
- Replacement costs for vehicles up to 4-years-old.
If something happens, how do I file a claim?
You must report any damage caused during delivery or rental of the vehicle to Turo via their mobile app or at www.turo.com/resolutions or call Intact’s designed claims team at 1-866-235-242.
Do I need to do any inspections on my vehicle?
We encourage you to inspect your vehicle prior to, and after, renting your vehicle via the Turo platform. Upon delivering the vehicle to the renters, the owner and renter are both encouraged to note any pre-existing damage to the vehicle.
